To avoid contamination, always make sure that the rum and other ingredients used are certified gluten-free.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the Mojito: In a tall (highball) glass, place brown sugar, lime wedges, mint leaves and berries. Use a pestle to crush the ingredients, releasing the juices of the lime and the aroma of the mint and berries.
  2. Add the Rum: Pour the white rum into the glass and stir well.
  3. Add Ice: Fill the glass to about three quarters full with crushed ice.
  4. Fill to the top with sparkling water: Fill the glass with sparkling water and stir gently to combine the ingredients.
  5. Garnish and serve: Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a couple of berries. Serve immediately with a straw.
